Dwight Wilson II's cinematic journey began as a student of film at Georgia State University, where his passion for storytelling ignited. Transitioning to Los Angeles, CA, he honed his skills and later embarked on a groundbreaking venture to Auckland, New Zealand, where he etched his name in history as the first African-American to write, produce, and direct a film on New Zealand soil with "The Return" (2007).
His career trajectory skyrocketed when he embraced the role of Behind-The-Scenes documentary director for Nate Parker’s Sundance sensation, "The Birth of a Nation" (2016).
